Damascus Adventure Moto DAM 200

NEW in 2025! Registration is now open for the first annual Damascus Adventure Moto DAM 200, an epic dual sport adventure motorcycle ride into the mountains surrounding Damascus. Follow a 200-kilometer route along the scenic, winding back roads around Southwest Virginia. The DAM 200 is a moderate ride-at-your-own-pace route on a mix of paved and gravel surfaces, big-bike friendly, and a real delight for beginners and experienced riders alike. The DAM 200 will be limited to 150 riders—don’t miss out!
Registration is $200 per person and includes the ride on Saturday, plus primitive tent camping from Friday to Sunday, Saturday breakfast and dinner, one raffle ticket, and a DAM 200 event t-shirt. Also included is access to a BDR film screening on Friday night and local live music on Saturday night. There will be lunch and refuel options available for riders to choose from along the DAM 200 route on Saturday.
All DAM 200 proceeds go toward supporting the Town of Damascus in long-term recovery efforts from the impacts of Hurricane Helene in September 2024.

Damascus is the hub where the Mid-Atlantic and South East Backcountry Discovery Routes (MABDR & SEBDR) meet. This area is home to an endless network of dual sport adventure rides, from the winding blacktop of The Snake 421 and the US-58 Mount Rogers Scenic Byway, to many miles of gravel Forest Roads, to the technical singletrack of the Iron Mountain Trail.

What will the route be like for the ride on Saturday?
The DAM 200 is a 200-kilometer route along the scenic, winding back roads of Southwest Virginia up to mountaintop 360 views. Follow a moderate ride-at-your-own-pace route on a mix of paved and gravel surfaces, big-bike friendly, and a real delight for beginners and experienced riders alike.
What is the setup of the Saturday ride?
All riders will get a GPX file and the ride will be run at your own pace with a staggered start. We'll include recommendations for lunch and refuel spots along the way. There will be DAM 200 signs posted on the route.
What is included with camping at Tent City?
Camping is included with DAM 200 registration on Friday and Saturday nights at Tent City, a primitive camping area at the edge of town. Bathhouse with flush toilets and showers nearby. Less than half a mile to downtown Damascus. Tent camping and motorcycle parking only; no vans, campers or RVs. There is additional parking for other vehicles nearby at the Wilson Street lot (see below).
Are there other lodging options if I don't want to camp at Tent City?
Damascus has all you need, whether that's a full kitchen, a home-cooked meal, waterfront views, trail access, RV hookups, or a pet-friendly stay. Other overnight lodging is available in Damascus and is the responsibility of the individual participants. Check out the "Stay" tab at the top of this page for more information on lodging options.
Where do I park if I want to haul my bike(s) into Damascus on a trailer?
The Town of Damascus provides free long-term parking for up to 30 days at two lots in town. The Wilson Street lot is open for trailer parking during the DAM 200. Overnight camping is not permitted in long-term lots.
