Contra Dance: Trail Town Twirl
The town of Damascus is hosting a contra dance series, the Trail Town Twirl, in partnership with caller Warren Doyle of the Appalachian Folk School in nearby Laurel Bloomery, TN. There is a beginners' lesson at 7pm and the dance is from 8 to 11pm.
Each dance features a live band and uses traditional contra dance terms. Dances are held quarterly around the solstices and equinoxes. Open to all ages and experience levels. No partner needed.
Pay at the door, cash only, suggested donation $5-15, free for kids under 12.
Located at the Rock School Auditorium at 505 South Shady Avenue.
