Independence Day Celebration
Make plans now for the annual Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd at Beaverdam Creek Park!
NOTE: We have a NEW LOCATION for the Independence Day Celebration on July 3rd. This event has outgrown the Damascus Town Park and moved to Beaverdam Creek Park, 1211 South Shady Avenue, starting in 2024 to improve public safety and comply with current fireworks regulations. You may also know it as Tent City, the county ballfields, or the ballfields by One Way Ministries. It is the same event you know and love, just at a new, bigger location! Bring your own lawn chair or picnic blanket and stay awhile. We'll have live music by Phantom, several local food vendors, and fireworks by Manuel's Fireworks at dark. 6-10pm - Local Food Vendors 7-9pm - Live music by Phantom Fireworks show by Manuel's Fireworks at dark The Independence Day Celebration is always scheduled on July 3rd. In case of inclement weather, this event will be rescheduled to Labor Day. Thank you to Point Broadband for sponsoring our music this year! |

- The gates at Beaverdam Creek Park will be closed so that the entire park can be used for the event. Parking along the fence row is reserved for handicapped and senior parking.
- Find additional parking along South Shady Avenue, at the large long-term lot across from the Library, at the Town Park, and throughout downtown. Follow the footpath, Beaverdam Creek Trail, down to the park - we will have portable light towers along the trail once the fireworks are over.
- West Laurel Avenue and Water Street will be closed for traffic control following the event. If parked along the Town Park and Library, you will exit on US-58 toward Abingdon. If parked along South Shady Avenue and Laurel Avenue, you will exit on US-91 toward Glade Spring/Mountain City.
- Fireworks are also visible from other parts of Damascus surrounding the county ballfields.
